Across pressure ridges

It’s incredible going through the park, though one of the essential aspects of our training is going over pressure ridges – where the ice folds up out of the water because of the pressure from currents and winds. When we eventually set out to the North Pole, we will have to navigate vast swathes of regions full of these ridges, with 100kg pulks. The challenges can be mind boggling and good team work is essential to succeed and avoid injury.

360 Extremes Expedition

A couple of years ago, Natalia and I set about to work towards something that most people called us crazy for even thinking about. Going around the world… the hard way: via both the South and the North Pole.

We have been training the past two years, going up 6000m mountains in Bolivia, cycling from Lands’ End to John O’Groats in winter, and we’re about to go up to the Arctic for two months for training and an expedition up there. Plus, there will be plenty more training projects to come. Furthermore, Sir Ranulph Fiennes has agreed to be the Patron of the Expedition, supporting us with guidance and planning for the massive challenges that await.

We have invested a massive amount of time and resources into the whole project, though it will not be something we can complete just by ourselves. So we have set up a crowdfunding website at Trevolta where we offer rewards from our travels to anybody who supports us. Rewards range from postcards through to mugs, t-shirts, calendars, videos and large size printed photos and posters from the areas we travel through. Any support you can provide on this website would be a massive help for you, and we would love to be able to thank you for this support on the site.
